The Coming Events Posters - https://www.fun-fairs.co.uk/gallery/category/3-coming-events/ currently has just ONE poster displayed It would appear that the Forum is far more popular with members than the posters and I can see why - easier to search, alphabetical listing etc, Do we want to keep the Posters section?? All the best Bill Link to comment

If we made it a condition of posting that the Lessee name must be included and the type of fair, it could well diminish the amount of listings members post, including Larger type fairs. A lot of the events are gathered from social media, which doesn't always give the information mentioned. It is something the Admin team will discuss though. Thank you for your input. 3 Link to comment

Posting of children's fairs after all it is still an event that people looking up events may be interested in taking their families to. If it can help bring visitors to these small events it can bring a bit of a living to the assorted organisers of that certain small event. 3 Link to comment

I don't disagree about families visiting the fairs, but how many of these fairs are visited and reported/photgraped on by the core majority of the forums membership? I.e fairground enthusiasts. 3 Link to comment

I can see where you are coming from with this Owen but we are trying to cover most types of events that Showmen open at. I can also remember a certain children's Christmas Fair in Manchester many many years ago where a certain imported ride was built up ready to debut for a few day's before the council decided that it wasn't a children's ride and it had to pull down before getting open, now not many people will of witnessed that or got any photos of that happening. I wouldn't want to miss a chance like that again. 🤔🤔😁. Oh the ride I'm on about was Steven Hills first Miami. 😉 2 Link to comment

I agree with what you say not many have been reported on. It does not really mean we should not promote these events and give the show people some positive advertising time. Link to comment

Who are we promoting to on a members forum, not the general public! So see little benefit to the show people in terms of generating interest for an event Link to comment

I was rather surprised that no one continued, but as the posters tended to be used in Coming Events anyway, I suppose the posters section wasn't needed. Link to comment

Almost all of the forum is "member only", however the Coming Events forum is available to read for anyone who stumbles across it. They can see all the events, but cannot comment unless they are a member. 2 1 Link to comment
